FROM THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER

SEPTEMBER 2021

The Master’s Message    Portsmouth Freemasons | St. John’s

Greetings from the East,

Happy September Brethren!

We’ve had a busy year so far and we are not alone. There is a lot of masonic activity going on throughout the district and the state. Please check the district calendar once in a while and see what’s happening near you. Whether you are looking for a ritual performance workshop, a family outing, or a degree to attend- there is always something going on any given week in your district. Personally, I’m a sucker for a pancake breakfast

We had a fantastic joint veterans program in August and I have to say, it was not only a great night, but one of the most memorable highlights of my Masonic career. Thank you to those who came out.

I’d like to congratulate our newest fellowcraft, Josh Nixon for coming into open lodge and absolutely crushing his EA lesson. Josh is currently raising money for the Tunnels to Towers charity which is a 9/11-based fundraiser supporting first responders. He will be live-streaming an ascent of 110 flights of stairs on 9/11, please lend him your support.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our Junior Steward for his contribution to the lodge this year. Nathan is in the Navy and will be shipping off to another port in October. His last meeting will be in September, so please give him your warm regards. Best of luck to you my brother, please stay in touch.

For those of you who have been inquiring about a joint meeting with Whipple Lodge, I do apologize for not being able to work out the kinks. The Pitt Tavern is still under limited use/covid rules. I wanted to use it but that is logistically not going to happen. I will continue to revisit the idea and hopefully work something out by the end of the year. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks again, hope to see you this month.

Fraternally,

Worshipful Jonathan Neihart,

Worshipful Master
